The sun is the special guest at every talk show right now! Spreading its warmth and encouraging fewer clothes and pool parties! And of course, we all want to join this sunshine party feeling confident and comfortable in our skin. After all, we wait half the year in anticipation of the summer season!

With BBQ’s, cooling cocktails, way later nights and the excuse, “I’m on vacay baby!” …

I’ve got a bunch of easy to implement slimming secrets to use all summer long!

Imagine your mouth’s a waterslide…

and only the select VIPs can ride down into your tummy. There are only a few beverages that I say are a “hard no!” and those are soda, diet soda, any drink artificially sugared or colored and non-organic dairy. Instead swap to: herbal iced tea like Davidson’s Organics (save 20% off with code: JillSave20), sparkling water with a squeeze of lime or lemon or a splash of pomegranate, cherry or grapefruit juice. Sip on effervescent kombucha, load up on your vitamins with tasty natural flavors by adding an Ener-C packet to your ice water, make green juice to mix with your cocktails, and get tropical with coconut water. Up your energy, youthfulness and summer glow with Matcha Green Tea by Ujido! Make it iced or steamed with almond milk in the morning! (Save 20% with code: JillSave20)

Get hip with chips!

Believe me when I say, I love gettin’ me crunch on! However, I’m not down with GMO (genetically modified) corn chips, hydrogentated oils and fake BS flavorings. Not only are the following chips I recommend ridiculously tasty but they are made with beans and rice so you’re getting a serving of protein and fiber too! Purchase Beanfields or Beanito’s at your local store! Make veggie chips with sweet potato, carrots or zucchini. Slice thin, drizzle with olive oil and whatever seasonings that make your taste buds smile and roast in the oven. Grab a bunch of kale, rip that sucker from the middle rib, rub with olive oil and Redmond Real Salt and bake low and slow at 200 for 15 minutes.

Is your dip worthy?

You can have your creamy dips, just change what makes it creamy, from fattening to healthful. Cashews, avocado, tahini, miso, beans, even switching to a healthier vegan mayo makes a big difference. There are tons of plant-based dip recipes online. Have fun experimenting and dippin’ guilt free!

Our bodies love having an affair with Vitamin D!

It’s an essential vitamin and hormone benefiting our immune health, brain and nervous system plus enhances that award-winning smile and our bones! Like any affair, a little space is necessary at times. Choosing the best sunblock affects many aspects of our health and the environment. I’d rather burn that slather my skin with detrimental ingredients like oxybenzone, avobenzone, fragrance and parabens. Which are linked to hormone disruption, cell damaging free radicals, allergic reactions and more! Choosing mineral based sunblock with UVA/UVB protecting Zinc Oxide and naturally plant based additions protect and nourish your skin. Not to forget, also doesn’t destroy our coral reefs or aquatic life. My go to is Beatycounter Mineral Sunscreen.
