Can Ironing Be Exercise?

When it comes to making fitness a priority, it is important to make the distinction between “exercise” and “daily-life” activities. Exercise is a set amount of time allocated to focus on improving physical abilities on a regular basis. It should involve total body movements that create strength, better flexibility and balance while raising the heart rate and boosting the metabolism. Taking the dog for a walk, pushing a stroller through a supermarket, swimming with the kids at the beach, walking a few blocks to the car, climbing the stairs to work, cleaning the house, are all examples of normal life activities but they should not be viewed as “exercise.” Schedule specific workout time as you would any important home or work commitment and real fitness will become an easy habit for life.
